Etsy Offsite Ads fee explained: 15% or 12%, and when you pay it
Offsite Ads is Etsy's program that advertises your listings on sites like Google and social media. You only pay when someone clicks one of those ads and then buys from your shop.
How much it costs
- 15% of the order total if your shop made less than $10,000 in the past 12 months. You can opt out.
- 12% if your shop made $10,000 or more. The program is required at this level.
- The fee is capped at $100 per order.
- It is charged on top of the normal transaction, processing and listing fees.
When you get charged
If a buyer clicks an Etsy offsite ad for your item and buys from your shop within 30 days, the order counts as an Offsite Ads sale, even if they bought a different item.
Example
A $28 item with $4.95 shipping is a $32.95 order. Normal Etsy fees are $3.58 (10.9%). If it came from an Offsite Ad at 15%, add $4.94. Total fees: $8.52, about 26% of the sale.

If you're under $10,000 a year, it depends on your margin.
- Stay in if your margin can absorb 15% and you want extra exposure. Some sellers get sales they would never have found.
- Opt out if your margin is thin. A 15% fee can turn a small profit into a loss.
- If you must stay in, add a small amount to your prices so Offsite Ads sales still make money.
