    How the background remover works

    1. Drop 1 to 10 product photos. They are opened on your device, not uploaded.
    2. The AI finds the item. The first time, your browser downloads a small open-source model (Fast 4.6 MB or Best 46 MB) and keeps it in its cache for next time.
    3. Pick the look: white, light gray, transparent or (Starter) your own color, square 1:1, portrait 3:4 or 4:5, and how much padding to leave around the item.
    4. Download each photo as PNG or JPG, or all of them at once.

    Tips for clean cutouts

    FAQ

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. The background is removed by an AI model that runs inside your browser. Your photos stay on your device. The only downloads are the model file and the runtime, once, and they are then kept in your browser cache.

What is the difference between Fast and Best?

Fast uses the small U2-Net model (about 4.6 MB). It loads quickly and works well on simple products on a plain backdrop, but edges are softer. Best uses the ISNet general-use model (about 46 MB, downloaded once). It gives cleaner edges and handles busy backgrounds better, but takes several seconds per photo.

Which size should I use for eBay, Etsy, Poshmark and Mercari?

Square 1:1 is accepted by all four and is what Mercari shows. If your Poshmark photos get cropped at the sides in the app, try portrait 3:4. 4:5 is a taller option for galleries and social posts. The 2000 px output is large enough for zoom on most marketplaces.

How many photos can I do for free?

Five photos per day at full quality with no watermark. FeeMath Starter removes the daily limit and adds a ZIP download of the whole batch and custom background colors.

Why does part of my item disappear or the background stay?

AI cutouts can struggle with white items on white backgrounds, glass, thin straps and items that touch the photo edge. Try the Best model, shoot on a backdrop that contrasts with the item, and leave some space around it.

Can I use the edited photos commercially?

Yes. The photos are yours, and both AI models are released under permissive open-source licenses (Apache-2.0) that allow commercial use. Follow each marketplace's own photo rules, for example eBay asks that photos show the actual item.

Note: AI cutouts are not perfect. Check every photo before you list it. Works best in a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a computer or a newer phone; the Best model needs more memory and may be slow on older phones. Models: U2-Net and ISNet by Xuebin Qin et al., Apache-2.0. Runtime: ONNX Runtime Web, MIT.
